MemComputing has developed a novel circuit design that can defeat RSA 2048 encrypted messages as part of a USAF Phase II SBIR. In emulation mode, the circuit demonstrates the ability to solve 300+ bit products of two primes. The forecast, when scaled up and implemented as an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), is that RSA 2048 could be broken in real time.
